Expat Opinion

Marc Delbreil
Country of Origin: France
Company: Endeavour Development

Living in the canton of Fribourg since May 1999.

My favorite place in the canton of Fribourg:
Top of the Vanil noir

My favorite Fribourg website:
www.fribourgregion.ch

My favorite Swiss website:
www.myswitzerland.com

What I like about Switzerland:
Mass transportation network.
Civilised people and the core values of the Swiss federation

What I don't like about Switzerland:
Shops closing too early particularly at noon and on Saturday.
Late in alternative energies development. Bio gas, for instance, is everywhere in Switzerland and it would be an incredible way to push people towards less polluting vehicles and to save up on crude oil imports

My message to other expatriates living in Fribourg:
Get involved, socialise with Swiss people, so you too, can defend the country's common values that are the pillars of this democracy. Indulge life, eating at savoury restaurants, touring the canton and visiting museums.
